You have been given the following brief and asked to deliver a scope of work that will be considered the single source of truth for the next phase of the project.
Time and budget will be estimated from it, we’ll sign a formal agreement with the customer, and our technical team will use it as their main reference.
How would you approach this task?
(Please note that we don’t ask you to submit a scope, but provide your approach to the given task)
Hi there, so here is what we need. We have a website, but it doesn’t have a shop section. We are a book store chain. We need to be able to sell books online.
We have a warehouse and we want to be able to have stock on the site updated live with warehouse data and data from our store’s system.
Books can be shipped worldwide, with prices different for different countries. Also, I want customers to be able to get their order overnight or express, standard or pick up in the store if it is available in a store. But not all books available for order are available for the store. And we need all analytics and tracking, and that thing when people get an email if they have a cart items.
So on the main page, we want to have a big slider, with the book of the month, and different recommendations. And a popup bar when we have our promotions. And maybe a popup, you know. We have different promotions every week.
Also, I like to have blog posts there, and like new books and best sellers section.
We want to have this awesome feature where customers can get books every month.
So customers can select their favourite genre and category and receive a new book each month. But the price is the same.
So there will be a different age and type and depending of favourite author.
Yes, there should be an option to connect authors as alike, so when you go to similar or smth on the product page you see suggestions, like on Netflix.
On the blog, i want to be able to add buy now buttons, when I have book review posts.
We have sections with age gate.
Also, we need to know in the warehouse when we sold something and to whom, and where it will be shipped.
And customers should receive emails with suggestions based on their selection of preferred category, type and authors.
The site should be lightning-fast.
We also want it to look really sleek.
